Not only is it an excellent meal – and certainly one of the best restaurants in Bardstown KY – but it’s also an exceedingly romantic way to spend an evening or afternoon with your sweetheart. A ride on My Old Kentucky Dinner Train is also a wonderful throwback to a historic mode of transportation. My Old Kentucky Dinner Train has treated couples to romantic rail excursions for over 30 years. They had their first run in 1988. The 20-mile track follows a former rail line from the mid-1860s, which traveled between Bardstown and Louisville. The train cars, which date back to the 1940s, have been beautifully refurbished to provide diners with an ambiance that harks back to a more romantic era when travel by train was a luxury.
